Atto’s Kate Kendall joins AirTree as Explorer

Over the past 13 years, I’ve dedicated my time to helping underrepresented people discover and find a home within the tech startup ecosystem. From the early days of building community through Socialmelb coffee mornings, Silicon Beach Drinks and Women 2.0 events in Melbourne to connecting the community through The Fetch – and now empowering the next generation of female founders through Atto. Things have come along so much for female founders – yet we still have more to do.

Part of this is changing the face and sources of investment funding for female founders. We need a greater diversity of people and more women on cap tables – and to help everyone economically rise not just a select few. We also need to change the culture with not only the wealthy investing but also extending the opportunity to all.

This is part of our work and evolution of Atto Accelerator and we hope to share more on that soon. For now, I’m excited to announce I was selected to join AirTree’s Explorer program. This happened last year but due to scheduling commitments with our last accelerator batch, I have now joined the latest cohort of Explorers. AirTree is a leading VC fund in Australia and are also passionate about changing the investor landscape.

The Explorer program aims to empower the next generation of diverse and world-class angel investors in Australia and New Zealand through education, networks, and funds to invest.

If you’re working on a startup idea, as always, Atto and I would love to explore it with you.

Submit an EOI, schedule a discovery call or reach out via our contact form.
